Caroline has worked as a photographer, writer, TV reporter and narrator. She was a foster parent in Japan to two brothers she nurtured from age 5 to 18. She draws on all these rich experiences as she tutors children online and in person.

Her book of portraits, People the Japanese Know (Japan Times, 1989), profiles famous Japanese personalities. In Voice: Teenagers Predict the Future (Kawade Shobo, 2002), Caroline documented teenagers around the world as they explored their intuitive sense of the future.

She is currently creating educational materials for children. A British citizen, Caroline was born in London and is a graduate of SOAS, University of London. She has a home in Japan and has worked with young people across Asia for over 25 years.
